Qualifications:
- Minimum of a 2-year diploma in Public Health Promotion, Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Recreation or related fields. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Two to three years of proven experience working in the community wellness field, preferably in a post-secondary or educational environment.
Additional Qualifications:
- Mental Health First Aid;
- Ability to travel;
- Class five driver’s license;
- Knowledge of and experience with the eight dimensions of wellness framework, Indigenous wellness and their application in an educational setting, would be an asset.
- Knowledge and awareness of the operation of a post-secondary institution and experience working in northern, rural and remote communities would be an asset.
Successful candidate must provide College or University transcripts and proof of valid driver’s to Human Resources prior to commencement.

Position Description
Student Wellness Facilitator
Purpose:
Reporting to the Chair, Student Success the Student Wellness Facilitator is responsible for promoting a culture of wellbeing within the College Community and engaging both on-campus and distance students in the development of personal wellness strategies. This position requires innovation and creativity to coordinate evidence-based, college-wide projects aimed at improving student wellness and promoting student resiliency. The Student Wellness Facilitator is a member of the Student Success team, with a primary focus on the development and promotion of student wellness resources and initiatives, and serving as a coach to both on-campus and distance students in integrating wellness and resiliency skills into their student experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operations
- Promote implement and evaluate student wellness programs and initiatives in support of student wellbeing.
- Facilitate workshops, webinars, podcasts, presentations and other programs to support comprehensive student wellness.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including the Northern Lakes College Student Association, to deliver initiatives and activities that enhance student success and wellbeing.
- Serve as a member of College committees as requested by the Chair, Student Success.
- Contribute to and participate in student orientation sessions, both on-line and in-person.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of a student safety information module.
- Develop and maintain resources and materials related to student wellness initiatives, collaborating with External Relations when necessary.
- In collaboration with the Student Success team, contribute to the delivery of comprehensive student support services.
- Provide student wellness related referrals to both internal and external resources.
- Serve as the College liaison for Healthy Campus Alberta, as well as other student wellness related external organizations as required.
- Develop and implement a process for tracking student wellness initiative metrics in support of Student Success team strategic goals and reporting requirements.
- Identify opportunities for grant funding in support of student wellness initiatives.
Innovation
- Contribute to a culture of growth and development within the Student Success team to support continuous improvement in the delivery of student wellness initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for improved delivery of student wellness initiatives to distance students.
- Identify and recommend professional development opportunities to stay current on regional, provincial and national best practices related to student wellness in post-secondary institutions.
Communication
- Develop and implement effective communications strategies for students regarding student wellness initiatives.
- Share information amongst staff, other College departments and the public about student wellness initiatives, and related processes and procedures.
Other
- Contribute to other College priorities as required.
- Other duties as directed.
