Introduction:

Ferland & Associates Rehabilitation Inc. is seeking a dedicated and passionate Community Occupational Therapist to join our growing team. We are a small, privately owned company led by an Occupational Therapist with over 25 years of experience in the private sector. Our mission is to provide high-quality, client-centered care to individuals with complex mental health, brain injury, and chronic pain needs in Eastern Ontario. Role Summary:

As a Community Occupational Therapist at Ferland & Associates Rehabilitation Inc., you will play a vital role in helping our clients overcome challenges and improve their quality of life. You will assess, develop, and implement individualized therapy plans for clients with various needs, including those with complex mental health, brain injury, and chronic pain conditions. This is a consulting position with a generous remuneration based on therapist billing.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of clients' functional abilities, needs, and goals
  • Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans, utilizing evidence-based practices
  • Monitor and document clients' progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals
  • Educate clients, their families, and caregivers about therapy strategies and home programs
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in accordance with federal, provincial, and company regulations
  • Participate in ongoing professional development activities and stay current on best practices in the field

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking coupled with strong problem solving and report writing skills
  • Strong clinical knowledge and experience in complex mental health, brain injury, and chronic pain management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to client care
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist is an asset however entry-level candidates will be considered in an mentorship employment context
  • Multilingual abilities an asset, strong oral and written English communication skills are mandatory
