Role Summary

Manages the employees engaged in plant and machine maintenance, alteration and repair work. Provides continuous technical direction through maintenance and tooling maintenance staff and manufacturing support for manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tracks, analyzes and improves key maintenance parameters;
  • Develops department action plan and leads their team to achieve strategic goals and continuous improvement objectives.
  • Applying root cause analysis, in an effective manner.
  • Manages overviews and audits Maintenance’s Reliability.
  • Breakdowns are monitored, data is used to determine proactive courses of action.
  • Develop and maintain the system to acquire data on equipment performance, in order to analyze efficiency and suggest improvements.
  • Work on capital projects.
  • Overview and coordinate Facilities on the repair and maintenance of building and grounds. Monitors Energy Projects.
  • Oversee system for preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Ensure manpower requirements and proper skills for the maintenance department are met.
  • Training of maintenance personnel, to ensure their skills are reflective of changes in technology.
  • Meet your commitments; when you cannot, discuss alternative solutions with departments/people affected before deadline date.
  • Work closely with HSE Department.
  • Responsible for and audits regularly manpower plans and overtime scheduling.
  • Oversee system for equipment repairs and spare parts availability.
  • Develop your team and keep team informed.
  • Develop procedures to comply with Government, Legal, Cosma, P&F and IATF requirements.
  • Have methods in place to PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Adjust).
  • Continually improve the systems and processes your department is accountable for (to improve beyond current standard)

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • C of Q in Electrical, Mechanical or Tool & Die
  • Minimum 5 years experience working in an automotive environment in a Leadership Role
  • Press Shop and Automated Weldline experience a must
  • Must demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have excellent organizational, leadership, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
  • Profound knowledge and experience in providing Performance Feedback
  • Excellent Planning, organizational and budgeting skills
  • Excellent Critical thinking skills
