What We're Looking For:


The General Manager position is the face of Vacasa in that market to prospective owners, guests and current owners. This role is key to the success of Vacasa in a defined regional area. They will be the leader of the home care team and ultimately responsible for all ground operations while also working diligently to help grow the market by working with prospective homeowners to bring on new properties with Vacasa. Success will be measured by the overall performance of the region both in terms of quality of management and growth.


What You'll Do:

  • Manage teams to consistently meet Vacasa's expectations
  • Work consistently on owner satisfaction
  • Onboarding new properties and ensure that each home is set up for success
  • Oversee proficiency in Unit Maintenance will result in satisfied owners with well-maintained homes and minimal refund requests from guests
  • Manage outstanding Housekeeping services are the foundation of Vacasa's success. Housekeeping services serve the basis for excellent guest and owner experiences, repeat bookings, positive guest reviews, and help to maintain the homes
  • Guest Experience success will result in guest retention, positive reviews and word of mouth referrals, and great vacation experiences
  • A commitment to Personal Growth increases personal satisfaction and engagement in the workplace. It can increase proficiency in the role, as well as contribute to a person's well-being

The Skills You'll Need:

    • Communication Expert: Proactively communicate with your owners via email, phone, and in-person to ensure that they are kept in the loop with all aspects of the management of their home. Experience working with remote teams and managers is crucial. Vacasa has a diverse group of support teams around the world, and understanding remote relationships is highly important.
    • Problem Solver: At Vacasa, we seek to head problems off at the pass, but we can't anticipate everything! When something doesn't go according to plan, you will need to go into action and work with teams across Vacasa to quickly resolve issues.
    • Can-do/Will-do Attitude: You will be part of an on-call rotation, and guest needs aren't always confined to normal business hours. A willingness to help when help is needed is essential!
    • Natural-born Leader: As a General Manager, you will have a team of employees dependent on your region's growth. The ability to lead and support them collaboratively and within Vacasa's culture is essential.
    • Computer Savvy: Our custom management software has set Vacasa apart as an industry leader, and we use our system to manage all aspects of our business. While we will never ask you to do any coding, we will want you to be very comfortable using a computer. If you commonly find yourself saying, "I bet I can get on YouTube and figure out how to do that", you'll be just fine.
    • Maintenance-minded: As an extension of your owners, you will need to be able to troubleshoot issues that come up in your homes and either repair them (if minor) or make recommendations to your owners for larger issues. We don't expect you to be an expert plumber/electrician/housecleaner, but a few handyman/woman skills will come in, well, handy.
    • Change Agent: At Vacasa, we firmly believe that every employee should be a stakeholder in improving our owner and guest experience. As an agent of change, we will ask you to help identify areas where we have an opportunity to improve and suggest ways to make our services better than ever
    • Analysis Driven: You will work closely with our rates & portfolio teams to ensure owners are getting the best rates for their properties. Experience meeting with owners and discussing revenue and vacation rental industry trends is highly desired.
    • Confidence: Must be able to develop confidence and trust with owners over the phone and in-person.
    • Ethical: Grounded in ethical business practices.
    • Education: College/CEGEP, Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and education - you don't need to have a degree for this role but you will need professional communication skills including writing and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Independence: Self-motivated and self-sufficient, while having the confidence to seek guidance and direction as needed.
    • Goal-Oriented: Ability to set and exceed aggressive individual and organizational goals.
    • Hospitality-Tourism Industry Management experience: we are looking for someone who has had previous experience working and leading both maintenance and housekeeping teams.
  • Experience working in Field and Operations driven roles.
