Required Qualifications:
· Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario (Registered Nurse)
· Bachelor of Nursing Science or related post-diploma education
Ability/Skills/Knowledge:

· Performance with a focus on resident and staff safety, leadership and demonstrate customer service and resident centered care excellence
· Sound clinical skills and knowledge of gerontological nursing practice
· Customer service skills
· Excellent leadership skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Knowledge in key performance indicators (KPIs) and continuous quality improvement programs
· Knowledge of risk management and investigations
· Knowledge of the Ministry of Long-Term Care Act, Resident’s Bill of Rights, and all other related legislation
· Familiarity with the funding process and the funding indicators
· Strong organizational, time management and record-keeping skills
· Ability to prioritize and manage high volume workload
· Ability to lead regulated and non-regulated staff in a unionized environment
Assets:
· Bilingual
· Experience in Long-Term Care
· Experience in a management role
· Knowledge of Point Click Care Electronic Health Records
· Completion of courses in gerontology
· RAI-MDS training
· Certification in Infection Control (CIC)
· JHSC Certification Part 1 & 2
