The Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (SATCC) is seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and well-organized individual to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be a team player, a strong problem solver, and have a reputation for integrity and a focus on service excellence and innovation in their work. The Commission’s mandate is to provide a relevant, accessible and responsive apprenticeship training and certification system to meet employers’ and apprentices’ needs and priorities.

Reporting to the Supervisor of Accounting, the Accounting Clerk will be responsible for analyzing, monitoring and entering the revenue and expense entries. This position will enter invoice registers, cash receipt documents and journal entries using the government’s MIDAS Financials accounting system. Review accuracy of invoice registers and journal entry (JE) documents output from MIDAS by comparing the source documents to the MIDAS invoice registers and JE documents. You will reconcile accounts in dispute and perform any corrective action necessary as well as the primary contact for the SATCC learning and development initiatives. You will also be responsible for coverage that entails verifying accuracy of the cash mail and electronic payment reports; completing the bank deposits, preparing cash and electronic data entry reports; preparing revenue refund documents; S4’s; entering cash receipts, payments, and journal entries into MIDAS; and the Training Allowance Program

To be successful in this role, the candidate will have demonstrated their ability to be an effective problem solver with excellent oral and written communication skills and strong organizational and time-management skills. You will have the ability to input, edit, update and format information in spreadsheets, databases, and word processing software. Speed, accuracy, and attention to detail are essential.

Typically, the knowledge, skills and experience required to be successful in this position would have been obtained through successful completion of a Business-Accountancy Specialty Diploma Program and supplemented by related on-the-job experience in financial accounting.
