The Opportunity
RVS invites applications for a term, full-time (35 hrs/wk) Child Development Advisor position starting immediately and ending June 3, 2024 at Northcott Prairie School. Northcott Prairie School, located in the City of Airdrie, and serves students from grades K-8. Information regarding this school may be found at https://northcott.rockyview.ab.ca/.
Responsibilities
Assists teachers in the collection of data on individuals or groups of students for program planning
Conducts observations within the classroom and school and works with appropriate personnel to develop a student behaviour plan
Liaises between school staff members, the home and external agencies
Provides support to families and assists in parent education programs
Liaises with parents and makes referrals to community and social service agencies with direction from school administration
Education/Experience
Child and Youth Care Diploma with preference of a university degree in a related field
Ability to meet the qualification and competency requirements established by Alberta Learning
Minimum of three years related experience with a college level education or a minimum one year experience with a university degree
Experience/training with behaviour modification
