The Role:

The Team Lead, Assembly is responsible for leading a team to ensure process flow, safety, productivity, and quality standards are met or exceeded.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring, reporting and achieving performance to key operating indicators including safety, product quality, attendance, productivity, labour efficiency and schedule attainment
  • Assisting the Manager in the areas of performance management, professional development, progressive discipline, cross-training, labour planning, scheduling, budgeting and cost control.
  • Performing all the tasks, operations and activities
  • Maintaining appropriate staff productivity, quality, attendance records and absenteeism coverage to maximize efficiency
  • Conducting daily toolbox meetings/production meetings to review key operating indicators and address issues.
  • Responding to and addressing problems in the area of responsibility.
  • Leading and/or assisting with continuous improvement activities.
  • Assisting and conducting standardized audits in the areas of safety, quality, 5S, cleanliness, etc.
  • Quality control in the area of responsibility.
  • Conduct on the job training and mentoring employees
  • Ensuring safety rules execution in his/her area of responsibility.
  • Approving and reporting work time, including employees’ absences, vacation time and overtime
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to maintain and improve efficiencies
  • Perform any other duties as required.

You will bring:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing, framing components, prefabricated construction or material handling processes
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and team oriented attitude
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to train and coach others
  • Goal oriented attitude
  • Good understating of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Problem solving skills are essential
  • Basic computer skills
