Position Summary

Do you have a passion for the Gaming Industry and love working in a fast-paced dynamic environment? Elements Casino Victoria is currently on the lookout for a vibrant and passionate Surveillance Operator. As the eyes of the casino this team member will be monitoring all areas of the property and maintaining documentation, logs, and records physically and electronically. This role is also responsible for ensuring the safety of our team members, guests and company assets by maintaining continuous surveillance of gaming areas and activities. This position requires schedule flexibility including evenings, holidays, and weekend shifts.

Key Accountabilities

  • Monitoring, documenting and reporting violations regarding large cash/cash equivalent transactions, excluded and self-excluded guests and unauthorized access.
  • Maintaining logs; preparing daily reports; storing records securely for evidence purposes.
  • Monitoring, documenting and reporting on the condition of surveillance facilities and equipment.
  • Answering internal and external telephone calls.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of the sections of the Gaming Control Act of BC, the Criminal Code of Canada, and BCLC policies applicable to casino operational activity.
  • Communicating effectively with all appropriate operational departments.
  • Building strong working relationships with guests and team members.
  • Complying with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations.
  • Performing other duties as required.

Education and Qualifications ·

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to focus on monitors for long periods of time.
  • Possess a high level of honesty and integrity, adherence to high standards, methods and procedures.
  • Computer proficiency is a requirement; and strong typing abilities are an asset.
  • Gaming knowledge & surveillance experience as well as background experience in Criminology an asset.
  • Understanding of yourself and others when communicating with team members and guests.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, and successfully multi-task.
  • Serving It Right certificate required.
  • The ability to successfully maintain a Criminal Record Check through the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch.

Work Environment Considerations

  • Regular office environment, non-traditional work hours may be required in certain circumstances, some travel may be required.
