Reporting to the Senior Manager, IT Operations, the Sr. IT Network and Systems Administrator will:

Major Responsibilities:
  • Acting as tertiary contact and providing third level support, advice, and assistance to NRT staff and its stakeholders in the use of a variety of infrastructure systems (e.g., Servers, Switches, Firewall, etc.) to optimize effective use of technology throughout the organization.
  • Monitoring helpdesk on-line ticketing system to review requests for IT services, identifying trends in technology problems, advising Sr. Manager, IT Operations and providing input into resolving issues.
  • Participating on project teams as required and conducting special projects related to information technology at the request of the Sr. Manager, IT Operations such as supporting project teams in defining project needs, benefits, and technical strategy; researching & developing parameters within the project life cycle; providing technical analysis and design services; and support of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions. Participation on projects is focused on smoothing the transition of projects from project staff to production staff by performing operation activities within the project life cycle.
  • Maintaining the following systems: Windows & Linux systems infrastructure; Windows and Application systems that support Asset Management. This includes SA engineering and provisioning, operations and support, maintenance and research and development to ensure continual innovation.
  • Maintain the Enterprise IT networking services (VPN, routers, switches, wireless infrastructure, firewalls, and load balancers) including designing, implementing, and supporting the systems as required. This includes SA engineering and provisioning, operations and support, maintenance and research and development to ensure continual innovation.
  • Researching and recommending innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identifying approaches that leverage NRT resources and provide economies of scale.
  • Work closely with other IT disciplines to ensure the current network is scalable, flexible, and sustainable to provide enterprise services to NRT’s customers.
  • Create detailed design and deployment documentation from technical architecture designs for communications systems, networks, hardware, software, transmission and signaling systems.
  • Performing periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
Knowledge and Qualifications:
  • 5-10 years of experience in a Network and Systems Administrator role in a senior capacity.
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in supporting client needs in a complex technology environment (e.g., local, and wide area network, information systems security, applications implementation, and maintenance).
  • Demonstrated expertise in operating within an infrastructure technology environment that is highly available.
  • Strong current working knowledge of business hardware and software applications (e.g., Windows, Linux, CISCO, Meraki, CITRIX, HP, etc.) to analyze/resolve technology problems and provide effective client support services.
  • Excellent knowledge of current network and server hardware, TCP/IP networks, Hypervisors, Storage Area Networks, IaaS, Full Lifecycle Management Systems, software applications, databases and software and hardware architecture to provide advice and assistance in the implementation of new/upgraded systems enhancements.
  • In-depth hands-on knowledge and experience in configuration and troubleshooting of CISCO ASA firewalls, CISCO Umbrella, switches, routers, connectivity mediums, and VPN devices.
  • Strong knowledge of routing protocols like EIGRP, OSPF, IPv4/IPv6, Multicast, Wireless, LAN, QoS and VLANs
  • Sound knowledge of systems security, SIEM, end-point-protection, and cyber security best practices to facilitate the protection and integrity of NRT’s data and information.
  • Good knowledge of IT project management principles, techniques, and practices.
  • Broad-based skillset covering IT disciplines such as high availability networks, vendor relationships, client service and performance support skills.
  • Significant knowledge and experience administering Azure, Azure AD, and AWS.
  • Strong knowledge of all aspects of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, ARP, SMTP, RADIUS, STP, ADC for Load balancing and WAN technology.
  • Significant knowledge and experience in the administration of SANs, Firewalls, Virtualization (server & desktop), Backup Infrastructure, Layers 2 and 3 switching.
  • Good knowledge of information technology systems and networks normally acquired through a university degree or college education in computer science and/or information management or equivalent education and experience.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Relevant industry certifications (Microsoft, Linux, CISCO, ITIL, PMI)
  • Demonstrated system administration experience, normally acquired through five+ years’ experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills. Position deals with a variety of problems and sometimes must decide which answer is best. The question/issues are typically clear and require determination of which answer (from a few choices) is the best. Decisions normally have a noticeable effect department-wide and company-wide, and judgment errors can typically require one to two weeks to correct or reverse.
  • Ability to interpret and/or explain information for non-technical staff, which involves terminology or concepts not familiar to many people. Regularly provide advice and recommend actions involving complex issues. May resolve problems within established practices.
  • Ability to work flexible work hours if required. Responsibilities sometime require weekends and sometimes with little advanced notice.
  • Experience in migrations/upgrades (Servers, Server Clusters, IaaS, Hypervisors, Storage and Networks).
  • Experience with disaster recovery planning, testing, and implementation.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and experience in a highly technical role with field implementation experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and performing implementations, installs and upgrades.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand client requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Experience with virtual environments (Hyper-V, VMWare, Azure, AWS)
  • Experience using scripting tools such as PowerShell, BASH scripting, and Python.
  • Experience with PCI compliance practices preferred.
  • Experience with data management & data privacy practices and laws
