Software Developer (C# and Python) Job at PROTO Mfg. Ltd.
PROTO is looking for a scientific programmer (C# and Python programming) to join our software team in developing reusable, testable, and efficient software for our x-ray diffraction and x-ray fluorescence scientific instruments. We are looking for long-term employees who want to develop their programming skills and increase their scientific knowledge.
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science is a requirement.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop Python and C# based software for running our scientific instruments and analyzing data
- Design and implementation of key functionality and features, in conjunction with an application scientist, according to various use cases
Programming Qualification and Skills (May be waived if candidate has a strong scientific background and some programming experience)
- Knowledge of Python, C#, Visual Basic and Visual Studio.Net
- Familiarity with event-driven programming
- Strong unit test and debugging skills
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
- Energetic and creative thinker with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
