Job Description:

Sun Life Canada has the ambition of providing every Sun Life Client with a Financial roadmap. In 2021, Sun Life partnered with Conquest Planning in order to embed a second-generation Financial Planning software across the organization: Sun Life One Plan. Reporting to the VP, Client Experience & Digital Channels, in the Canadian Client Experience Office (CXO), the Director, Agile Portfolio Management for the OneSun Financial Planning program is responsible for supporting the program across its multiple work-streams (internal and external). You will work directly with the Financial Planning Leadership Team, Product Owners across the Canadian organization, various Business Units stakeholders, to bring to life this OneSun program.

What will you do?

• Own the OneSun Financial Planning program portfolio by leveraging DE processes (APM), roadmap
• Responsible for the oversight of all work-streams within the program between the Business and IT
• Accountable for the continuous improve the operating and governance models across the program and all work-streams resulting in effective communication, alignment and delivery
• Own and facilitate portfolio management events and ceremonies (e.g. weekly APM, FPLT, Execution Group and Strategy Group meetings)
• Support the alignment of outcomes, initiatives, capabilities and features across the Client journey and Business platforms; participate in quarterly platform reviews, system demos and other program ceremonies
• Own the definition, alignment, tracking and reporting on program level OKRs (objectives & key results), financials (e.g.: Executive audiences across the organization, reporting purposes, etc.)
• Support the Chief Product Owner in the articulation of the program long/medium term strategy and definition of the roadmap
• Inform and influence partners across the organization
• Advocate and be a champion of the program across Canada and OneSun projects

What will you need to succeed?

• Experience in scaled agile environments with multi-layer operating models and ability to lead and manage work streams/multiple projects concurrently while working through ambiguity
• Strong analytical, planning and organization skills, combined with strong business sense
• The ability to effectively influence people to all levels in a fast-moving environment through building trust, rapport and strong relationship at all levels
• Experience in digital and large organizational transformations with an outcome focused and result-driven mindset
• Capable in strategic planning and the definition of objectives and key-results and applying OKRs as drivers of work prioritization within a portfolio backlog
• Deep understanding of our organizational structure, our Clients and Advisors Journeys
• History of process ownership, continual process improvement and lean process design

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
