The Service Writer plays a vital role at Bobcat of Toronto. You are the key customer facing contact for initiating compact construction and grounds maintenance equipment service and repairs. You will be responsible for assessing and quoting repairs, being the point of contact between the Parts Department and Service Technicians, and contacting customers with repair updates. The ideal candidate is highly organized, offers excellent customer service and will strive to continuously improve the Service Department’s safety and efficiency.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Provide excellent customer service from intake to release of equipment and perform any additional follow-up
  • Listen carefully to customers and assess their equipment to determine the best repair plan
  • Advise the customer on recommended equipment repairs and pricing quote
  • Communicate with Parts Department and Technicians to make sure everything needed is on-hand
  • Provide updates to customers as work is completed
  • Answer detailed questions about services performed and price information
  • Maintain customer records by keeping all files organized
  • Scheduling service appointments over the phone
  • Serve as a customer relationship manager

KEY QUALIFICATION:

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a Service Counter/Service Writing position within the automotive, truck or construction equipment industries.
  • Technical/mechanical aptitude and/or licensed/background in construction equipment, truck or automotive.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and relationship building capacity.
  • Exceptional English language communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Computer proficiency in Windows and ideally dealership management software
  • Existing Bobcat product knowledge is an asset
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours during normal business hours in support of the business needs.
  • Successful candidates will be motivated, personable and possess excellent communication skills.
  • Must have a valid Ontario Driver’s License with a clean driver’s report.
