  • Current Certificate of Competence as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • BScN preferred.
  • Current BCLS certification.
  • Current Certification in Venipuncture.
  • 2 years recent surgical experience within the past 3 years.
  • Health teaching skills that demonstrate broad surgical nursing knowledge.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Member of RNAO preferred.
  • Satisfactory attendance.

ACCOUNTABILITIES (Major Responsibilities of the Position)
  • Provision of nursing care to meet the Standards of Practice of College of Nurses.
  • Collaboration within an interdisciplinary team to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, involving the patient and family.
  • Act as a liaison for patients/families with members of the health care team.
  • Work collaboratively to identify and implement process improvements to better meet the needs of patients and families.
  • Maintain a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Participation in various hospital committees and quality improvement initiatives.

As a condition of employment, you are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination to the Hospital’s Occupational Health and Safety department.
