CLASSIFICATION: Community Mental Health Nurse
HOURS: Permanent Full-Time, 1.0FTE, 37.5 hours per week. All sites. Current: Westside
The successful applicant would primarily work out of our Westside location as part of the
Connected Community Care Phase II strategy, an initiative focused on reducing the
reliance on emergency department visits, and establishing a more robust interdisciplinary
primary health care team with our partner organizations (Saskatchewan Health Authority,
Saskatoon Tribal Council, & Central Urban Métis Federation).

DUTIES:
- To provide professional mental health service and programs for an outpatient caseload
- To provide assessments and counselling
- To establish and implement effective treatment plans for individuals who experience a
- To facilitate treatment program continuity by observing and assessing individuals’ response

- Must be registered with the RPNAS or the SRNA.
• P.A.R.T. Certificate preferred.
• Prefer a minimum of 5 years’ experience in clinical mental health nursing.
• Able to work independently as well as work as a team member.
• Knowledge of mental health across the life cycle.
• Understanding of the impact of mental illness on the client, family and community.
• Knowledge and compatibility with CHSA policy.
• Understanding of Health Promotion initiatives in Mental Health.
• Knowledge of the Nursing Process and interventions appropriate to Mental Health,
including Suicide Risk Assessment.
• A working knowledge of the Mental Health Services Act and related legislation.
• Requires initiative and judgment to plan, implement, and modify treatment programs
according to needs of individual clients and families.
• Must be bondable.
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle required.
• Demonstrates strong interpersonal and collaborative communication skills and attitude.
