We require an experienced power engineer to maintain strict code compliance and maximize plant efficiency while adhering to all facility safety standards.

Our facility is powered via a 100 PSI Saskatoon boiler, responsible for steam supply to a 40’ autoclave (pressure cooker), and a 20’ dryer powered by a steam heat exchanger. More steam equipment will be added in the future.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will manage the overall maintenance and repairs of the equipment while maintaining the highest level of food safety, personal safety and equipment efficiency.

The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure the company assets (boiler, production equipment and facilities) are well maintained and operating in a safe mechanical manner. This position holds a critical role in reducing production down time and implementing preventive maintenance programs. When something breaks down, you will jump to rapid & dedicated troubleshooting to get things back online.

What you will do:

• PM - Establish preventative maintenance programs for all mechanically moving parts of our facility.
• Collaborate - Maintain relationships with the incredible 450,000sqft facility maintenance team & our network of suppliers. Work with the Landlord’s maintenance staff where overlap occurs.
• GMP & Organic - Lead our department in our push for GMP & Organic regulatory standards.

What you will bring:

• Sound judgement, willingness to make committed recommendations, and confident speed in execution as the leader of our maintenance program.

Your Experience:

• Power Engineer (Class 3, 4, or 5)
• Education/Training - Completed at least 2 years of apprenticeship in industrial mechanic/millwright program OR a combination of education, training and relevant experience.
• Skills/Trades - Industrial Millwright, Welding, Steam System Plumbing trade qualifications, and being a Macgyver in a pinch, are considered assets.
• Manufacturing - Knowledge of manufacturing/industrial equipment is an asset.

Compensation:

• $38-45/hr
