Molycop's twelve grinding media operations are strategically located around the world to service the growing global mining industry, particularly in copper, gold, and iron ore sectors. Molycop’s locations are in Chile, Peru, Mexico, USA, Canada, Indonesia, Spain, and Australia.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Metallurgical Engineer will perform a broad range of metallurgical and quality control functions in conjunction with Metallurgy, Engineering, and Senior Management staff.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for maintaining and developing all grinding media product specifications based on customer requirements.
• Regularly monitor quality control of grinding media including conducting product testing and quality audits.
• Work in a production environment taking projects from concept to production and troubleshooting manufacturing and design issues.
• Work with our raw material (steel bar) suppliers to ensure that product properties can be maintained and improved.
• Investigate, evaluate, and report on all customer concerns to determine necessary product improvements to resolve customer issues.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Material Science.
• A minimum of 5 years’ work experience in metallurgy or a related field.
• A strong interest in process engineering in a manufacturing business.
• Strong computer skills particularly in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills to work with all levels of the organization and multifunctional teams.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
