A Metal Finisher / Labourer is needed to join the Finishing Department, to work on the shop floor on stainless and copper vessels.

This position is responsible for metal preparation, metal cleaning and final system polishing and shining. You will work primarily with stainless steel and copper. Our benefits include extended medical and dental, plus a company-matching registered pension plan.

Shift: Full-time M-F, 7:30-4

Qualifications Hands on mechanical and fabrication shop experience;
Extensive use of various power tools, grinders, polishers; Industrial/manufacturing experience;
Proven attendance and safety record.

Attention to mechanical detail and quality;
Organized, self-starting, proactive get-the-job-done-right attitude;
Leadership, supervision, coaching and mentoring experience an asset;
Able to keep daily notes and records;
Ability to coordinate projects, prioritize and meet deadlines;
Crane and forklift experience considered an asset.

Key Duties

Use a variety of power and hand tools to produce required finishes on stainless and copper equipment;
Assist in work flow organization and prioritization; Use correct techniques (training provided) in a safe and efficient manner;
Safely and efficiently organize, set up, handle and transfer work pieces;
Co-operate and coordinate with other departments; e.g., welding and shipping.

High degree of responsibility for meeting production schedules and maintaining quality;
Screening based on sharpness of character and work ethic.

The starting wage depends on experience.
