Reporting to the Director, Corporate Decision Support, this position is primarily responsible for delivering key leadership insights including valuation modeling and analysis, partnering with HR on compensation program advisory and design, and performance reporting and analysis on key metrics and results.


What you will do:


  • Oversee Nutrien’s valuation analysis and modeling leveraging the 5 Year Strategic Plan to support various valuation reviews including the annual goodwill and fixed asset reviews, replacement cost valuation, tax valuations and ad hoc requests
  • Partner with Human Resources in advising and developing short- and long-term compensation programs, quarterly performance reporting and analysis on key metrics and results and preparation of communications to the Board
  • Partner with other key internal stakeholders including Business Unit Decision Support teams, Business Development & Strategy, Corporate Development, Investor Relations, Tax and IT on various financial analysis initiatives
  • Provide dynamic solutions for ad-hoc analysis requests requiring creativity, problem-solving and exceptional analytical skills, providing oversight and collaborating with key business partners
  • Provide functional leadership and guidance to one direct report including performance management, actively supporting career development opportunities and providing oversight
  • Work in conjunction with Investor Relations and Strategic Planning & Analysis to support the development of data analytics for Investor Day presentations
  • Assist in the preparation of communication materials for senior leadership and Board of Directors


What you will bring:


  • A professional accounting or Finance designation (CPA - CA, CMA, CGA, CFA, etc.) with 8 or more years of accounting or finance experience, with a minimum of 3 years post-designation experience
  • 2+ years of experience leading professionals
  • Previous experience with valuation analysis and creating driver-based models considered an asset with a thorough understanding of Nutrien’s business drivers and operating activities
  • Excellent experience with providing project oversight, creative solutions and clear communications with key business partners to ensure successful project engagement and execution
  • The ability to interface with various levels of management in a multi-task, deadline oriented, team environment
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, written and verbal communication, analytical and organizational skills with a high attention to detail
  • Excellent Microsoft Office – Word, Powerpoint and Outlook, proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others in a proactive, positive and constructive manner
  • Solution-oriented with demonstrated ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, peers, and team members and communicate effectively in written and verbal formats to various audiences including senior leadership
  • Experience in the application and interpretation of IFRS standards
