Nechako began production in 1969, purchasing rough lumber from bush mills located around the Vanderhoof area. With the addition in 1973 of the L&M Lumber sawmill, the site focused its supply chain on the abundance of small profile timber that was available as a result of large scale clearing of agricultural land in the Vanderhoof area. The sawmill has maintained its dominance in small diameter timber processing, utilizing a products previously piled and burned, creating value and reducing waste. In 2017, L&M Lumber merged into Nechako Lumber Co. Ltd.

In addition to the lumber manufacturing operations, Nechako Lumber Co. Ltd. operates Premium Pellet Ltd which turns sawdust and planer shavings into wood pellets for domestic heating and power production; and Nechako Green Energy which produces heat and electricity for the site

The Opportunity → Maintenance Supervisor (Graveyard Shift)

As part of our Maintenance team, the Maintenance Supervisor on the graveyard shift, is responsible for the safe and efficient planning, organizing the processes and procedures of the maintenance department. The Maintenance Supervisor works closely with the operations team to ensure a collaborative, safe, quality, efficient production and preventative maintenance. This position will provide leadership and support including a collaborative and positive working rapport between the maintenance team and production.

Qualifications:

• Understanding of predictive and reliable maintenance
• Minimum five years of experience in reliable maintenance
• Strong mechanical aptitude and display understanding of work management processes
• Comprehensive understanding of maintenance best practices and protocols
• Prioritizes multiple projects and tasks, demonstrates strong problem solving, critical thinking and decision making skills
• Demonstrated ability to hold people accountable
• Demonstrated skills and knowledge of budgeting and financial analysis skills
• Journeyman Red Seal Trade Certification as an Electrician or Millwright is an asset
• Proven ability to be detail oriented and organized

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build a rapport and work with integrity
• Strong computer and software skills
• Proven commitment to safety management and leadership
