Lumber Yard Supervisor Job at Deck Masters of Canada
You are in great shape and capable of carrying up to 50 lb. deck boards. Ideally you are at least 25 years old and are capable of a physically demanding day. In other words no previous back or shoulder injuries. Your primary role is to build, load & strap customer orders onto either a flat deck truck or 20’ trailer. You will also be offloading inventory from tractor trailers as they arrive using a forklift, and precision stacking lifts of decking in a fast paced environment.
Other duties/requirements include:
- Professionalism is expected while interacting with customers and coworkers.
- Picking orders, shipping & receiving, yard maintenance, and inventory control.
- Fueling up and ensuring trucks are ready to deliver the following morning.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Candidate must be able to lift 50 lbs continuously throughout the day
- High school diploma
- Bondable
- Must be comfortable driving with a trailer
- Must be punctual
- Physically fit and able to handle loading and unloading
- Attention to SAFETY, SAFETY, SAFETY, all day every day!
- Focus on quality & overall yard cleanliness
- Good communication skills including writing legibly
- Must be fluent in English
- Must be able to follow instructions and work unsupervised
- Be respectful of the people around you
- Forklift skills and previous lumberyard experience is a must
- Must be able to meet physical requirements
- Willing to work overtime when necessary
