Dynamic Earth Solutions (DES) specializes in site planning, spatial information and digital terrain modeling, surface and subsurface investigations, rock mechanics, underground structures, geotechnical laboratory services, flood forecasting and water resource management through our geotechnical, hydrotechnical, and civil site development expertise.


Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Junior and Intermediate level Civil Engineers to join the team.


As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks for various infrastructure projects;
  • Assist to plan, design and implementation of utility infrastructure (including, but not limited to sewers, WMs, culverts, tunnels, storm drainage, conduits/duct-banks, and other buried infrastructure) across a wide range of projects;
  • Create/compile design models and drawings;
  • Prepare design submissions and other technical documents;
  • Coordination with other Engineers/technicians and related disciplines to produce design deliverables;
  • Coordination with clients and other stakeholders;
  • Assist Senior Engineers and Designers as and when needed.


You bring to the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university;
  • Registered EIT or Professional Engineer, preferred with utilities experience including design of municipal infrastructure in a consultant environment;
  • Preferred project experience with underground Civil utility projects such as installation of watermains, sanitary and sewer infrastructure, roadwork or related;
  • Understanding of Engineering skills such as geometric design, grading, permitting, coordination with utility companies, and the production of utility schemes of accommodation, and roadway drainage design;
  • Familiarity with using 3D CAD applications and/or GIS for spatial analysis and hydraulic modeling is preferred;
  • Proficiency in CAD (MicroStation and/or Inroads and AutoCAD Civil 3D) and Microsoft Office suite (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook);
  • Experience in the production of plans, specifications, and Engineer's estimates for linear, roadway, or other Civil projects;
  • Understanding of Engineering principles related to capacity and loading of municipal infrastructure and/or understanding of design principles related to the civil/cabling design of underground telecommunication/electrical infrastructure;
  • Experience interfacing with local utilities and agencies;
  • Knowledge of infrastructure network, utility coordination & processes;
  • Experience with report and proposal writing.

Location:

Markham. There may be a need to travel once per week to project office Downtown Toronto or Mississauga.
