About the Position:

We are looking for a Junior Accountant join our rapidly expanding business!

Reporting directly to the Controller this position is responsible for bank reconciliations, ERP information system integrity and maintaining lease(s) documentation. This role will also be involved in period end processes. The position is responsible for a number of specific tasks such as:

  • Prepare bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are posted and cleared within the same period
  • Daily journal entries and accruals
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • ERP system maintenance of customer and vendor information
  • Maintaining various lease working papers and contracts
  • Ensure month end, quarter end and year end processing and deadlines are met
  • Ad hoc reporting
  • Accounts payable functions as required

About you:

  • Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Accounting or equivalent. Or combination of education and equivalent experience
  • 1+ years accounting experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and International Financial Reports Standards
  • Superior computer skills including an Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • QAD experience considered an asset
  • Must be a team player with a positive and professional attitude
  • Detail oriented and able to identify errors
  • Customer Service experience an asset.
  • Excellent problem solving, interpersonal and communications skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Possess an excellent knowledge of finance and accounting

  • This position works in a standard office environment.
  • This position will require concentration and focus to ensure accuracy of information.
