When you apply to an inventory, you are not applying for a specific position but rather for current and future job opportunities. Managers may use the inventory to staff their vacant positions.

Current positions to be staffed are in the Ottawa/Gatineau area. Applicants are encouraged to apply ONLY if they are able to relocate or commute to the latter area and who are bilingual in both official languages.

This process encompasses four different streams for senior financial analyst/manager positions. Applicants must clearly identify under which stream(s) they are submitting their application.

Intent of the process

Ed1. A bachelor’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics;

STREAM 1 (Financial Management Advisory Services, Financial Planning and Analysis):
E2. Experience in financial/budget management and planning, or in financial analysis and providing advice and recommendations to clients or management on a wide range of financial management issues.

STREAM 2 (Accounting):
E3. Varied experience in accounting (e.g. management of accounts receivable/accounts payable, salary accounting and/or preparation of financial statements).
E4. Experience in interpreting and applying financial policies, directives, guidelines and/or accounting policies.

STREAM 3 (Financial Systems):
E5. Experience in supporting and/or developing the SAP integrated financial system in any of the following modules: MM, CML, CO, FM, SD, FI, SFT.
E6. Experience in advising users and clients on financial systems.

STREAM 4 (Financial Policies, Monitoring, Internal Controls):
E7. Experience in quality assurance, audit, monitoring activities; or developing, implementing and/or interpreting financial policy instruments.
E8. Experience in providing advice and recommendations related to financial practices, audit or internal controls.

To avoid situations of conflict of interest and conflict of duties with the goal of upholding the values and ethics of the public sector and the public interest, applicants providing immigration consulting services (both registered and unregistered, paid and/or unpaid), would be required to recuse themselves from these duties for the duration of their employment, should they be appointed to a position within IRCC. Moreover, prospective appointees who are Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants would be required to resign from the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants. Of note, a “leave of absence” from the College does not meet IRCC’s requirement in the matter.

TOP-DOWN APPROACH:
Selection decisions may be based on the depth, breadth or degree of one or more qualifications an applicant possesses; for example, a cut-off score screening approach may be undertaken and candidates who have scored highest on a specific or a combination of qualifications may be invited to the next phase of assessment.
