To this day, the company continues to manufacture its famous confections in the town of St. Stephen, New Brunswick. Ganong continues to grow in the fast-paced & competitive world of food manufacturing and is currently seeking a Red Seal Industrial Mechanic for the Maintenance Department.
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Industrial Mechanic (Red Seal) is responsible for repairs and installing and maintaining all equipment within the factory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Logically diagnose problems, adapt, improvise, and overcome all situations.
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical systems of the production equipment and factory
- Adhere to all safety practices and policies and ensure Proper Protective Equipment is always worn
- Complete other duties assigned by maintenance management
- Willing to coach and mentor junior employees
- Participate in performance management strategies and provide relevant reporting
Qualifications:
- Red Seal Industrial Mechanic
- Ability to comprehend manufacturer’s manuals regarding repairing equipment
- Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to accept and embrace change in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Clear understanding of safety procedures as they relate to the field
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
- Must be flexible, able to work shift work and overtime when required
