Job Summary

The Cosmetic Formulator will research, develop, and optimize product formulations for various products. They will also assist in the development of new innovative products or improving formulas that already exist.

Main Job Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop new formulations and prepare submission bench samples for hair stylists’ tests.
• Prepare final product SOP for the manufacturing department and assist with pilot batches in production, if needed
• Work with the manufacturing department to establish optimal manufacturing methods for the developed products
• Work closely with other departments, including quality assurance, operations, and marketing, to achieve objectives
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and applicable documentation practices

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or related field
• 3-5 years experience formulating cosmetic and haircare products
• WHMIS 2015 is an asset
• TDG certification is an asset

Technical Competencies

• Demonstrate solid experience in the development of products and scientific creativity
• Ability to follow laboratory procedures and technical competence to perform and interpret analytical data.
• Computer skills (proficient use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Fluency in English and or French (Spoken, read, and written)

• Must be flexible to provide support during high workload demand (overtime if needed)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: From $650,000.00 per year
