Position: Lead, Shop Mechanic| Full-Time position

The Opportunity:

As the Lead, Shop Mechanic you will report to the Manager, Western Operations and be based out of Fort Nelson, BC. The role will be Monday to Friday as well as weekend coverage when required. This position is responsible for ensuring the company equipment is well maintained and repaired, meeting all standards and requirements, and that defects are resolved expeditiously and that internal customer questions are resolved in a timely manner. After a successful 3-month probation, an employee benefits package will be provided.

Essential Functions & Job Specification

• Prioritize safety on all work tasks
• Responsible for ensuring, maintaining, and promoting safe & efficient work practices
• Ensures company policy is always followed in accordance with the Company ISO9001: 2015 Quality Management System.
• Responsible to report any safety issues, incidents, or gaps in the Quality Management System
• Respectful team-player that leads with professionalism and integrity
• Takes pride in always maintaining and enforcing a safe and clean work area
• Maintains tools
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and complete repairs timely and efficiently
• Perform preventive maintenance of fleet/equipment
• Perform & analyze diagnostic tests on vehicles to find faults and make needed repairs while ensuring that all trailers are purged before entering the shop
• Interface with internal customers, drivers, and other company personnel; communicating effectively and professionally with a spirit of teamwork
• Maintaining organization and detailed records of repair
• Maintain parts inventory
• Test drive vehicles to gauge performance
• Provide service summary to drivers and ensure all checks and balances are performed before returning to vehicle to operations
• Travel to project sites to support site operations as required
• Support plant operations as required

• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Red Seal Certification
• Strong “go-to” individual
• Flexibility to complete service calls
• Demonstrates strong mechanical and technical aptitude
• CDL/Class 1 License preferred
• Understanding of industry regulatory requirements
• CVI certification preferred
• High School Diploma at minimum
• Collaborative, team player. Willingness to roll up your sleeves are required.
• Strategic minded and curious with ability to understand all aspects of the operations.
• Detail oriented and able to spot errors.
• Positive & safety minded.
• Effectively train and mentor others while being able to lead in operational situations while engaging all stakeholders.
• Proficiency with computers including MSOffice applications is preferred.
• Cryogenic equipment experience is an asset
