CIH or CRSP Certified Occupational Hygienist Job at Island Environmental Health & Safety Ltd
Island EHS is a Victoria based occupational hygiene consulting company. We provide services to a variety of clients including:
· School Districts
· Universities
· Ship repair facilities
· Developers
· Abatement contractors
We have an immediate need for a senior occupational hygienist. Responsibilities include the following:
· Carry out sampling services for clients, including air quality and occupational hygiene and industrial work
· Confined space assessments
· Training
· Hazardous materials investigations
· Asbestos and lead air sampling
· Asbestos air sample analysis
· Maintaining appropriate records for all aspects of the business
· Ability to develop sampling strategies and complete work in a timely fashion
Experience in the following areas will be beneficial:
· Confined space assessments
· Indoor air quality assessments
· Air sample collection
· Asbestos air sample analysis by PCM
· Hazmat surveys
· Final visual inspections and hazmat clearance reports
The successful candidate will have CIH or CRSP designation, previous industrial hygiene experience or a combination of Occupational Health and Safety/Hygiene education and experience that will qualify towards a CIH designation and CRSP. In addition, we require:
· Excellent time management
· Good client relations
· Attention to detail
· Organizational skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Technical writing skills
· A valid driver’s license and the use of your own vehicle
Compensation for this full-time position will depend on previous experience and qualifications. You must be legally qualified to work in Canada.
