Applications are invited from teachers with
BC Certification for the following teaching position:
North Island Secondary School, Port McNeill, BC
1.0 FTE Temporary – Careers 10 (two blocks),
Foods 9 (one block),
Computers 9-12 (one block)
Commencing: TBD until JUNE 30, 2023
or until the return of the incumbent
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
o completion of a Bachelor of Education;
o certification by or eligible to become BC certified by the BC Teacher Certification
Branch;
o academic training, qualifications and recent successful experience teaching
secondary level Career Life, Foods, and Computers;
o strong classroom management skills;
o the ability and energy to work with multi-age groups and meet the needs of students
with a range of learning styles and abilities using a variety of teaching strategies;
o the ability and desire to work closely with staff in a team-oriented approach to teaching
and learning;
o strong interest in innovation and inquiry; and
o ability to embed local Indigenous culture and ways of knowing into teaching practices.
