Job Description:

Reporting to the Associate Manager- Individual Insurance, you will be operating in a fast-paced environment with ties to both operations and financial reporting. The successful candidate will be responsible for suspense account clearing, reconciliations, and recording financial transactions that support accurate financial reporting. This role interacts with various departments within the organization and building and managing these relationships is key.


What you will do
  • Suspense account reporting and clearing of general ledger accounts utilizing SAP
  • Investigation and resolution of accounting issues, including manipulation and analysis of data
  • Preparing account reconciliations according to corporate policy and accounting standards
  • Preparing and processing journal vouchers relating to various accounting activities
  • Providing assistance to internal business partners (Audit, Policy Administration, etc)
  • Evaluating processes to identify opportunities for enhancement and improvement
  • Providing supporting coverage to other roles on the team
What you will bring
  • Accounting Certificate and/or related accounting experience is required
  • Knowledge of accounting systems (SAP, Prolific)
  • Strong knowledge of Excel; VBA programming for Excel is an asset
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal)
  • Proven analytical skills and strong interpersonal skills
  • Self starter, team-oriented, and able to work with limited direction
  • Knowledge of life insurance and investment product shelf would be an asset
  • Knowledge of IFRS17 is an asset
