Yard Supervisor Job at GFL Environmental Inc.
GFL is looking for a Yard Supervisor to join our team in Victoria, BC team!
The Yard Supervisor will safely monitor and supervise site operations for Portable Restroom & Temporary Fencing Division. They will provide leadership, which results in positive employee and vendor relationships and oversee the delivery, pickup, and installation of temporary fences or restrooms.

Key Responsibilities:
Supervise the staff and keep track of daily performance.
Organize and assign tasks to workers. Give a precise division of responsibilities to workers.
Continuously assess worker performance and find opportunities for improvement.
Establish and maintain GFL culture of ‘Save for Life’ and ensure workers performance is in line with expectations.
Provide on-the-job training and mentor employees.
Intervene and train employees on policies and procedures.
Organize and plan big events while maintaining strict deadlines.
Delivery, pickup, and installation of temporary fences or restrooms
Using a forklift or a Moffit to move assets.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent leadership, communication and management skills.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instruction and procedure manuals, routing reports and correspondence.
Ability to satisfactorily perform all duties required.
Ability to regularly lift/move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
Work in outdoor environment 70% of the time.
Frequently exposed to loud noise, humidity, hot and cold weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, vibration, toxic and caustic chemicals, fumes and airborne particles
