Job Description

JOB SUMMARY


Perform and assist in maintenance and labour work on equipment, buildings and grounds. Operate Regional, tractor, hand/power tools and lawn equipment truck. Assist operations staff in disinfecting and preparing Water Wagon for event-use. Deliver, set up and remove Water Wagon at various events across Niagara region. Liaise with Water Wagon monitor and Engagement and Education Coordinator. Maintain Water Wagon supply inventory including, recyclable cups, paper towel, Sani-Cloths. Deliver supply of promotional water bottles to each event alongside Water Wagon based on 10 per cent of expected event attendance.


QUALIFICATIONS


EDUCATION

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. (GED)
  • Completion of valid Operator-in-Training Water certificates accredited through the Ontario Water Wastewater Certification Office (OWWCO) or are willing to obtain certificates via written examination preferred


KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

  • Experience driving large trucks, tractors, pulling a trailer or other heavy equipment
  • Grounds and building maintenance experience
  • Experience with hand/power tools and lawn equipment
  • Janitorial experience would be an asset


SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • Must possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted class "D" license for the class of the vehicle operated (class “DZ” license is preferred).
  • Must maintain ability to travel in a timely manner to other offices, work locations or sites as authorized by the Corporation for business reasons.
  • In accordance with the Corporate Criminal Record Check Policy, the position requires the incumbent to undergo a Criminal Records Check and submit a Canadian Police Clearance Certificate.
  • Will be required to work weekdays, weekends, late evenings and early morning shifts. Shifts will vary in length of 3 to 8 hours.
  • Must be available to work up to 40 hours/week.
  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
