Our Hinton Pulp Division is seeking individuals with strong technical, leadership, planning, organization and interpersonal skills to fill the following position:

TURNAROUND COORDINATOR

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this position is a senior level role in our maintenance planning group, responsible for turnaround scheduling. To be successful in this role requires great organizational skills, alignment in company values, a collaborative leadership style and a personal commitment to safety.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead Planning and scheduling activities for the Turnaround and communicate and report progress to the team.
  • Perform safety audits to maintain a safe site and safe access for employees by identifying and removing hazards daily and monitor compliance to the Safety program.
  • Develop milestones, track planned progress and quality of work being performed, report issues, make recommendations, and work to resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Generate and utilize the maintenance schedule to develop milestones and work toward those milestones; manage risks to achieve milestones, highlighting them, making recommendations to mitigate risk, and implementing recommendations or providing solutions.
  • Primary point of contact and coordination for ALL groups for the Turnaround; act to resolve issues impeding efforts and provide clarity and direction to establish alignment.
  • Review previous Turnaround critiques, Inspection Reports, Major Maintenance and Capital Plans and other communication tools to monitor and validate that each is addressed to meet time and readiness commitments.
  • During the Turnaround you will monitor the work schedule to ensure the Critical path of the Turnaround is on track and not affected by other work. Reviewing the Schedule and Chairing the update meetings.
  • Host a post Turnaround Critique meeting with ALL Teams.
  • Validate that all spares and surplus materials are returned to the warehouse.
  • Collaborate with management and key stakeholders to ensure outstanding exceptions from a PSSR (Pre Startup Safety Review) are addressed.

Our ideal candidate would have:

  • 5-10 years of related experience dealing with contractors at various levels.
  • College or University degree in a related field, with a minimum of 5 to 10 years’ experience; OR a trades certification with a minimum of 5+ years heavy industrial experience (maintenance, production or engineering and preferably supervisory experience); OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to generate, read an interpret Gantt Charts.
  • Working knowledge of Scheduling software such as MS Project.
