About the Role*
We are seeking a talented technical writer to join our team as a part-time contractor. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining technical documentation that helps our Taxi, Transit and Paratransit customers understand our products and services. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong technical writing skills and a passion for producing high-quality documentation.

Responsibilities*

  • Collaborate with managers and subject matter experts to create and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, release notes, and other materials as needed
  • Write clear and concise technical content that is easy for customers to understand
  • Review and edit documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and meets company standards for quality and style
  • Manage documentation projects, including developing schedules and tracking progress
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to improve the documentation process and ensure that documentation meets customer needs
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in technical writing

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in technical writing, English, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably in a software or technology environment
  • Strong writing and editing skills with a focus on accuracy and clarity
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with documentation tools
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand complex technical concepts

This is a part-time contract position with a flexible schedule. Compensation will be based on an hourly rate and the number of hours worked each week. We are looking for someone who is able to commit to 10-60 hours per month.
