Fluxwerx Illumination is a leading innovator in an industry experiencing unprecedented growth. From our local facility in Port Kells, Surrey, we design, manufacture, and market architectural LED lighting products. As an integral part of our Assembly team, you support our innovate product development by completing final assembly of our award-winning fixtures.

This role is based out of Surrey, BC. Monday- Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.

As a Team Lead, you will play a vital role in the smooth operations of the production department; ensuring productivity, safety, and quality objectives are met. Team Leads oversee, coordinate, and participate in the activities of assembly line workers while providing guidance, support, and coaching to their team. Flexibility is key in this role as business needs fluctuate and team leads are instrumental in participating in change management.

What You'll Do:

  • Communicate day to day targets in safety, quality, and productivity to team members on the assembly line.
  • Provide technical expertise to the team through instruction about work specification, equipment operation, quality standards, etc.
  • Consistently promote high standards through your personal example.
  • Be positive, optimistic, realistic while motivating your team to success
  • Identify and report any unsafe practices or conditions to Production Manager
  • Report all tool and machinery hazards to the Production Manager.
  • Monitor assembly, packaging, and testing processes to ensure quality expectations are being met
  • Assist team with any quality related questions and/or elevate issues to Quality Manager.
  • Support production staff by removing barriers to ensure order completion is finalized at scheduled times and according to set priority.
  • Report any issues to the Shop Scheduler that may arise which would hinder completion of orders in the scheduled time or according to the set priority determined by the Production Scheduler.
  • Other duties, as requested by the Production Manager.

What You Bring:

  • 2-3 years of assembly experience in a manufacturing or assembly facility
  • A high level of attention to detail when identifying quality issues in production
  • A compliance-focused approach: the ability to follow detailed instruction and ensure others do so
  • Excellent communication skills: ability to explain complex processes in an easy-to-understand way
  • High level of cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse workforce
  • Strong motivation to continue to grow professionally and develop additional leadership skills

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: From $19.50 per hour
