S.M.A.R.T. Tutors work with elementary and high school students on a 1:1 basis to assist them in developing their understanding in language, mathematics, and science.

We are accepting applications from qualified TEACHERS and TEACHER-CANDIDATES to tutor elementary and high school students throughout Simcoe County.

Our team is entirely made up of teachers and teacher-candidates. Knowledge of the Ontario Curriculum and OCT Certification is preferred. This is an ideal position for you if you are qualified to teach in at least one of the following areas:

• Primary/ Junior Division
• Intermediate Math, English, and/or Science
• Senior Math (Calculus, Functions, Data Management)
• Senior Science (Chemistry, Physics, Biology)
• Senior English

• Barrie NW/ Springwater (Midhurst, Minesing)
• Barrie NE/ Oro-Medonte (Horseshoe Valley, Shanty Bay)
• Orillia/ Oro Medonte (Hawkestone)/ Ramara/ Severn
• Midland/ Penetanguishene/ Springwater (Elmvale)/ Tay/ Tiny
• Wasaga Beach/ Clearview (Collingwood, New Lowell, Stayner)

Only qualified teachers and teacher-candidates who are able to tutor within Simcoe County need apply. Applicants must be available to tutor a minimum of three (3) hours per week, and be able to commit their time to at least the end of the 2022/ 2023 school year (June 30, 2023). The option to extend services into the summer is available.

Definition of Duties

• Provide objective-related academic support, instruction of lessons, and applicable learning activities for individual tutoring and test preparation at the student’s home.
• Work with the same families on a consistent, weekly basis.
• Use student resources, your own teaching materials, and/or access our shared collection of resources.
• Collaborate with our team of tutors in our online forum.
• Complete accurate monthly documentation (Word formatted documents) and respond to emails in a timely manner.
• Tutoring sessions are 50-minutes long and S.M.A.R.T. Tutors set their own schedules.

Established in 2012, S.M.A.R.T. Tutoring and Test Preparation Services is an award-winning tutoring center based out of Barrie, ON. We provide customized in-home tutoring and test preparation services to students in Simcoe County. We are proud partners with the Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB).

Compensation

S.M.A.R.T. Tutoring and Test Preparation Services was built by teachers for teachers. S.M.A.R.T. Tutors work 3-20 hours per week. We offer fair rates that reflect our commitment to teachers and values in teaching and education. S.M.A.R.T. Tutors also benefit from our exclusive Teacher Referral Program and the services offered within our Wellness Program.
