The Role

Pason is seeking a Systems Test & Release Analyst to champion product releases across multiple teams with applicable stakeholders from conception through to completion. In this position you will work closely with software engineers and product owners throughout the entire SDLC, review requirements and design, verify software and system functionality, and write and execute both manual and automated tests. Your focus will be the “bigger picture”, validating software changes in the release pipeline have met their release criterion and communicating broadly across all stakeholder groups. You will be expected to share, educate, train other team members on business concepts and systems, testing best practices and make sure Pason’s complex software solutions meet the needs of our diverse customer base. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate software releases between multiple software project teams
• Prioritize software releases that are critical to customer support operations
• Assess and manage dependencies between software components in the release pipeline
• Validate software changes in the release pipeline have met their release criterion
• Champion communication and project ownership across management, development and SRT teams to facilitate releases and patching process
• Lead team testing by analyzing user stories, acceptance criteria, and collaborating with the developers, and product owners
• Perform regression, integration, performance, white box testing and maintain records of tests performed in a Test Case Management tool
• Understand the product and what is required for testing all the way through to running in production. Will involve execution of manual tests with the goal of migrating those manual steps (setup, execution) to an automated test framework.
• Provide detailed feedback to developers, identify discrepancies between requirements and actual functional, integration, performance and smoke test results.
• Evaluate existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement
• Perform other operational duties like presentations and documentation as required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required

• Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycles and associated development processes
• Proven ability to work across teams to identify practices, tools, and techniques that could aid in the standardization of processes and accelerate the delivery of products and solutions to customers
• Strong passion for software development and a history of getting things done
• Experience testing projects and products in an Agile environment
• Effective investigation skills, and ability to clearly document findings
• Familiarity with MySql, Java, Javascript, Python and/or React
• Experience with tools such as JIRA and Confluence are required
• Experience with Linux, SQL Workbench, Docker, Selenium

Preferred

• Experience with tools such as Gitlab, Bitbucket and Jenkins
• Experience testing with web technologies in Chrome/IE
• Familiarity with PDS WITSML Studio Desktop, QAComplete and WITSML
• Familiarity with AWS Components/ Infrastructure

Hybrid Work Environment

This position allows the opportunity for an employee to work in a hybrid environment where a portion of their role is in the office and the other portion remote.

Experience

• 1-2 years: of experience in software test automation
• 3-5 years: of experience in software testing in an agile environment
• Project management experience would be considered an asset

Education

• Bachelors or better in Engineering - Software
• Bachelors or better in Computer Science
