Job Overview:

Moohan Taekwondo was founded in 2017 to provide quality martial arts training in a way that promotes excellence in technical skills, character development and Taekwondo spirit. We aim to empower the individual, the family, and the community to realize their full potential.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated and caring Camp Counsellor to help unleash the potential of our summer camp participants. Your primary duty will be to supervise campers and facilitate camp activities and events. You may be asked to assist with Taekwondo lessons. Experience in Taekwondo is an asset but is not a pre-requisite for this position.

To be successful as a Camp Counsellor, you should be ready to assist the Camp Coordinator, Taekwondo Instructors, and other staff with the facilitation of all camp activities. You will be directly responsible for the delivery of all non-Taekwondo activities under the supervision of the Camp Coordinator. You must have good communication skills, be patient and understanding, and have a passion for working with children ages 5 to 12. You must be prepared to become a positive role model for our campers both inside and outside the club.
Responsibilities and Duties

  • Implement and deliver camp programming for Moohan Taekwondo summer camp
  • Assist with planning camp activities when needed
  • Greet and welcome campers each day
  • Provide leadership for all activities and training carried out during camp
  • Assist Taekwondo instructor with physical activities and martial arts training
  • Orient campers to camp rules on the first day
  • Maintain a tidy and clean activity area
  • Ensure all equipment and materials are in good working order, used safely, and returned to correct storage location at end of use
  • Provide after action reports to management at the end of the contract; highlight areas of success, concern, and improvement
  • Maintain a professional manner at all times

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills
  • Comfortable teaching students ages 5 to 12 in small and large group settings
  • An understanding and caring attitude and a strong desire to make a difference
  • First Aid (including CPR) certified, or the ability to become certified is an asset
  • Must provide criminal record check including Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) if 18 years of age or older. Successful candidates will be provided with assistance in obtaining a VSS if required.

Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 2 months
Part-time hours: 40 per week

Salary: $16.00-$18.00 per hour
