In between the pet cuddles, excited sniffs and belly rubs, other duties include:
  • Partner with the Store Manager to create strategic plans to support our key initiatives & growth of the business along with inventory order processing and reconciliation, floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, general housekeeping, and miscellaneous paperwork
  • Ensure operational standards are upheld
  • Action any merchandising opportunities in order to elevate the in-store experience
  • Inspire and uplift your team through coaching, collaboration and by living our core values
  • Create an inclusive and positive team environment
  • Drive the execution of sales
  • Lead, mentor, and coach ACEs to maintain the highest level of customer service
  • Foster employee engagement and retention through team activities
  • Raise brand awareness locally through collaboration and partnerships with charities, community groups, and animal rescue agencies
  • Support on-going recruitment and hiring of ACEs
  • Prepare weekly schedules and support the day-to-day assignment of tasks, ensuring adequate staffing to manage the service levels
  • Be the safety champion by leading health & safety audits and maintaining a safe and clean store environment
  • Other duties and tasks as required
What you bring:
  • Minimum of 2+ years customer service & retail management experience
  • Enthusiasm for learning & growth in the pet care industry
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service focused skills
  • Proven ability to lead and develop small teams
  • Conflict management and resolution skills
  • Flexible schedule based on business needs this may include evenings, weekends and closing
  • Working knowledge of point of sale (POS) systems
  • Ability to lift 50lbs repetitively without assistance
  • Access to reliable means of transportation to and from the store
