Caseload Area:

1to1 is currently recruiting for a full-time, part-time, and casual Speech-Language Pathologist for an adult caseload in the area of Northern York Region ( Aurora, Newmarket, Keswick, East Gwillimbury, Jackson's Point, and Pefferlaw ) under secure Ministry funding. Speech therapy is offered in homes and community settings. Assessment and intervention are offered in the home and community care setting inclusive of long-term care and retirement residences. The clinical caseload is inclusive but not limited to the following areas of practice: dysphagia, aphasia, apraxia, cognitive communication, and voice.

Responsibilities Include:


  • Providing client assessment in a community setting based on presenting impairment, disability, or handicap, using standardized assessment tools
  • Designing a treatment plan using evidence-based information, relevant best practice guidelines, and clinical expertise
  • Actively engaging clients, families, and caregivers to address client-centered goals for the requested referred client service plan
  • Actively engaging in client/family teaching
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of the intervention, client's response, and progress toward goal attainment
  • Providing evidence-based assessment and intervention using SMART goals


Qualifications:


  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Registration with CASLPO (Mentoring Available for Initial Practice)
  • Excellent assessment and intervention skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Experience providing community-based services.
  • Excellent communication and analytic skills, with strong organizational abilities
  • 2-3 years of experience is preferred.
  • Dysphagia experience is an asset.
  • Have access to a vehicle and a valid driver's license
  • Proof of professional liability insurance
  • Completion of a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check
