Flynn Group of Companies is currently seeking a Shop Labourer to join its Kelowna Branch located in Lake Country, British Columbia (8775, 1 Jim Bailey Crescent unit d, Lake Country, BC V4V 1L7).
Responsibilities
- Review work orders and interpret drawings to determine machining operations to be performed
- Safely handle various gauges and types of sheet metal as per work order requirements. These materials are sharp and heavy and may require asking for assistance from a co-worker.
- Safely program or set up tools and equipment such as Shears and Brake Presses
- Safely operate Shears – Schectl, Accushear. This includes performing repetitive machining operations when necessary.
- Safely operate Press Brakes – Schectl, Accupress. This includes performing repetitive machining operations when necessary.
- Provide assistance to co-worker whenever a 2-person action is required
- Safely perform repetitive machining operations required to complete work orders
- Verify dimensions of parts machined using micrometers, callipers, and other precision measuring instruments
- Grind or chip excess metal from metal products using hand tools
- Transport raw materials, finished products and equipment throughout plant manually or using powered equipment
- Shut down and de-energize equipment at end of shift and perform housekeeping duties (sweeping, wiping, and organizing) in assigned work space
Physical Requirements
- Stand for a minimum of 8 hours a day with potential for overtime work.
- Lift materials and tools up to 50 pounds
- Display sufficient dexterity to stay safe when performing tasks assigned
- Read and use a Tape Measure with 100 accuracy
- Stay focused and work independently
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
