DUTIES

WTTP 1760: Introduction to Wastewater & Wastewater Collection systems (3 Credits)

Students are introduced to wastewater characteristics and collection system processes. The course focuses on domestic and industrial sources as they relate to the way wastewater is collected, treated and disposed of. Areas of study include basic descriptions of; what is wastewater; why we have to treat wastewater; the processes involved with treating wastewater; disposal of treated effluent, and the collection of wastewater from sources.

QUALIFICATIONS

Instructor Minimum Qualifications


The successful candidate will hold a minimum of a Level 4 in water or wastewater treatment with a related diploma. A related degree or a combination of education and experience will be considered. Preference will be given to candidate with instructional experience in water & wastewater industry. Related work experience is essential.


In addition to excellent verbal and written communication skills, the preferred candidates will have demonstrated skills and abilities in classroom education

The TRUFA Faculty Member must:

  • Be knowledgeable and experienced in the subject matter of the course
  • Have received training or have successful experience in the active facilitation of learning in a collaborative environment
  • Have direct experience working with current educational technologies, tools and Learning Management Systems
  • Have demonstrated knowledge of effective pedagogy in the use of current educational technology and tools
  • Have demonstrated skills and abilities in the delivery of flexible learning materials, the application of instructional technology and in the application of adult learning principles
