Senior Satellite Network Architect Job at Xplore Inc.
Position Overview: *
We are seeking a Senior Satellite Network Architect to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be the lead accountable for Xplore's satellite network architecture strategy and design. Xplore relies on managed service agreements to deploy Satellite broadband connectivity. In this role you will be the accountable lead for current Geostationary Satellite standards, acceptance, internal engineering best practices and vendor relationships. You will be accountable to lead acceptance test plans, capacity engineering guidelines as well as feature roadmaps from concept to implementation and acceptance.
As an architect you will be part of the technical leadership path, leading satellite technology discussions, creating work plans for Senior Engineers, and communicating executive summaries back to the business to drive key decisions. You will also be a key escalation path for contracts and deliverables with satellite partners.

Key responsibilities include:
- Create and maintain a satellite technology roadmap consisting of features that will drive capacity and customer experience improvements. This will consist of working closely with satellite partners to understand new features, use cases, benefits, economics/ business case, etc.
- Manage satellite partners from an engineering and deliverable standpoint. Lead technical inputs in contract negotiations ensuring adequate measurements are in place to continually validate deliverables as per contract
- Support project execution through overseeing and contributing to acceptance test plans for new features, beams, satellites, etc. with the goal to thoroughly validate deliverables
- Support strategy and analysis for buying and selling spectrum assets
- Consult with regulatory and product teams on new services, requirements, and public consultations
- Provide technical leadership to Senior Engineers through the creation of work plans and goal setting
- Lead the creation of engineering guidelines and standards for satellite platforms
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience working in a principal engineering position for a communications service provider with the accountability of satellite technology
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in an IP network design environment
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a leadership role managing direct reports
- Deep Understanding of GEO/LEO satellite design and architecture
- Strong RF background with a focus on satellite
- Understanding of Spectrum, licensing and reporting procedures such as Safety Code 6
- Strong understanding of IP and data transmission
- Understanding of satellite / terrestrial access technology
- Overall rounded view of network architecture design and evolution
- Strong presentation and verbal communication skills are a requirement
