Leader Name: Director, External Reporting

As ATB’s next Senior Manager, External Reporting, you will be a critical team member involved in the preparation of ATB’s quarterly and annual financial statements, MD&A and related deliverables. You will be well-versed in IFRS, detail-oriented, and have excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—that will be utilized in your role as a trusted business partner with key stakeholders. You will be responsible for monthly reporting for complex accounting topics, and will help support our regulatory reporting.

• Develop, produce and coordinate deliverables for the financial statements and MD&A that meet auditing and accounting standards within tight deadlines.
• Work closely with key stakeholders, including the Financial Markets Group and Treasury, to provide insight on their financial results to allow for sound decision-making.
• Act as a subject matter expert on foreign exchange and other complex accounting topics, which involves monthly reporting and analysis.
• Stay up to date on accounting standard updates and ensure ATB complies with IFRS.
• Participate in the evaluation and implementation of accounting and reporting standards, including the development or refinement of current practices, policies and procedures.
• Maintain a strong control environment.
• Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
• Participate and support special projects as they arise.

Requirements

• University Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance required, along with a CPA designation.
• 7+ years of post-designation experience.
• Strong communication & interpersonal skills to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
• Acute attention to detail with the ability to meet multiple deliverables.
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of IFRS and reporting requirements.
• Technical proficiency and the ability to understand data flows.
• Ability to think outside the box while providing strong analysis and insight.
• A background with an audit firm or financial institution preferred.
• Knowledge of how to use BQ is a benefit, but not required
• Additional designations (e.g. CFA) is a benefit, but not required.
