We have an opening for a qualified candidate to take on a role as a Senior Account Manager at Bioinformatics Solutions Inc (BSI) in Waterloo Ontario.

BSI, founded in Waterloo in 2000, provides innovative and industry-leading software solutions to fundamental bioinformatics problems. We're looking for a qualified business development specialist to join our team as a Senior Account Manager. Your role is to identify new business opportunities and relationships in a market with great potential in order to generate revenue, improve profitability, and help the business grow. You will have a dedicate sales territory and will report to the Sales Manager, will be part of the Sales Team, and will work in close collaboration with the Applications, developers, and R&D team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop new and existing relationships with customers to exceed assigned sales targets while managing entire sales cycle
  • Have a good understanding of the businesses' products and services and be able to advise others about them
  • Interact with customers to learn and understand their needs and their decision making
  • Acting as single point of contact for the new customers in collaboration with the applications and development teams.
  • Support development of the sales and business strategy
  • Visiting clients and presenting BSI software and services
  • Research and identify new business opportunities
  • Attend seminars, conferences and events where appropriate
  • Help to plan sales campaigns
  • Help improve the sales pipeline
  • Understand and help customers find appropriate solutions for their needs
  • Maintain accurate reporting and records in CRM
  • Build and maintain awareness of new products, services and competitor activities
  • Contribute to marketing initiatives and strategies

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of sales experience
  • Successful track record in B2B sales and negotiation (min 3 years)
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients through all available mediums (excellent verbal, listening, writing, presenting skills in English)
  • Experience in account management
  • Ability to address objections of prospective customers
  • Experience and understanding of the market for software and service for life science
  • Experience in CRM software is required
  • MSc or PhD in biology, biochemistry, analytical chemistry is a plus
  • Results driven with a proven ability to succeed in achieving sales targets
  • Self-motivated, with engaging level of enthusiasm
  • Solid experience in opportunity qualification, pre-visit planning, call control, account development, and time and territory management
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Other Skills And Abilities

Ability and willingness to travel as travel is required both domestic and international.
