We are expanding our team and looking to hire a Registered Psychotherapist!

Thank you for your interest in joining the One Peace Therapy team. We are currently a small private practice that offers holistic wellness psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups across the GTA and Canada. We began supporting clients in the midst of the pandemic - October 2020! Since then, the practice has grown significantly and is ready to continue growing with the right candidate.

One Peace Therapy mission is to support BIPOC and non-BIPOC individuals, couples, families, and groups with a holistic environment and approach. The intersectionality of mental health, culture, socioeconomic status, physical health, oppression, and more play a significant role on how one interacts with the world and themselves. The ideal candidate:

  • Ability to work with various mental health concerns such as addictions, identity concerns, trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, stress, and more
  • Works from an evidence base theoretical framework (e.g. Emotion Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, etc.)
  • Works with individuals, couples and/or families on a long term and short term basis
  • Supports children and/or pre-teens/youth (under the age of 16)
  • Is available to work on weekends and at least 1 day and 1 evening shift during the week
  • At least 1 year of experience providing psychotherapy consultation, assessment, and/or treatment to individuals and/or couples (one year of psychotherapy experience can include clinical practicum/internship)
  • Strong documentation, organization, listening and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of case conceptualization and able to create treatment plans
  • Identifies as a Person of Colour (POC)
  • Experience with technology and therapeutic platforms (e.g. Jane)
  • Registered and in good standing with the appropriate regulated college(s) (e.g. College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario, Ontario Psychological Association (OPA), College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO), etc.) or other related colleges

Educational Requirements:

  • Masters in Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Social Work, or other related disciplines
  • Professional liability insurance
  • Ability to practice psychotherapy across Canada is an asset
  • Certifications specializing in particular modalities (e.g. EMDR) is an asset
  • MUST have a supervisor if you are under a qualifying status with your college (E.g. Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying))

Responsibilities:

  • Provide psychotherapy practices to clients
  • Practice ethical duties/responsibilities at all times
  • Attend monthly team meetings
  • Create presentations/webinars to conduct on mental health topics of your choice
  • Provide appropriate documentation before sessions such as consent and intake forms
  • Provide appropriate documentation after sessions such as session notes
  • Conduct a series of Individual sessions, Couples, and Family sessions
  • Schedule clients accordingly to your schedule
  • Maintain caseload
  • Complete risk assessments and management plans with all clients presenting in crisis, with suicide risk
  • Partial self-marketing

COVID-19 considerations:
Practitioners will be required to work from home. Once in-person sessions are available, virtual therapy will still be an option and proper attire (e.g. masks) while in-person is expected to be worn.
