Registered Nurse - Infusion Job at Northern Health Region

$44.13–$57.63 an hour

Provides support at the sites comprised of the Northern Health Region (NHR) which include:

  • Thompson, Gillam, Lynn Lake, Leaf Rapids, Wabowden, Pikwitonei, Thicket Portage, and Ilford
  • The Pas, Flin Flon, Snow Lake, Sherridon, Cormorant, Easterville, Grand Rapids, and Moose Lake

Promotes health within the community through expertise in diabetes, specifically in the six critical program areas of
prevention, education, care, management, support and research. Creates interdisciplinary collaborative relationships
with fellow health care team members, and other community agencies to ensure a high standard of practice and
delivery of quality client care.

Guided by Northern Health Region (NHR)’s Primary Health Care principles, this position will strive to improve the health
status of the residents of the NHR working from an advanced understanding and knowledge of Chronic Disease
Management, harm reduction, population health, determinants of health, and case management delivered within a
primary health care framework. Develops and implement health plans from a client centered strength/holistic approach.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing

  • Current active practicing registration with College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)
  • Active Certified Diabetes Educator (or willingness to complete within two (2) years of employment)
  • Current certification from a recognized Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS), or obtain within three (3)
months of commencing employment
  • Valid Manitoba Class V driver’s license and access to a vehicle and willing to use it to travel in region throughout
the year
  • Thorough knowledge of Windows based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet
  • Knowledge of the organizations policies, philosophy, goals and objectives
  • Two (2) years recent experience directly related in working with clients with diabetes or other chronic illnesses
preferred
  • Satisfactory employment record required
  • Successful candidate subject to provide security checks in accordance with Security Checks for Employment
