Registered Early Childhood Educator or equivalent (Child and Youth Worker or OCT Member) required for a Team Lead Position at St. Thomas Aquinas CES (Keswick, ON).

This is a full time position (30-40hrs/week). Candidates must be available to work a split shift in a before and after school program.

Starting Pay: $21.07 - $24.79/hour plus Wage Enhancement Grant ($2.00/hr), Team Lead Premium Pay, and Split Shift Premium ($2.00/hr).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
In collaboration with the school age team, the Team Lead is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the program. The Team Lead serves as a source of information to parents, community partners, and teammates through knowledge and understanding of internal policies and procedures, government child care regulations, and dedication to early learning and development. Through professional conduct and respectful leadership, the Team Lead acts as a model and support to teammates, supply staff, volunteers, and students. The Team Lead shows support of the supervisor’s decisions and consistently advises the supervisor of information pertaining to the program.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
  • Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education (or approved equivalency) from a recognized college or university.
  • A recent Police Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Health assessment and up-to-date record of immunization as outlined by legislation.
  • Up-to-date registration with the College of ECEs (if applicable).
  • Up-to-date certification in CPR-C and Standard First Aid (training provided upon selection if required).
  • Knowledge of the developmental needs of children and demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge.
  • Experience with program design and implementation, preferably play/inquiry based with the use of pedagogical documentation.
  • Leadership skills
  • Demonstrated competency in the understanding and application of child care legislation.
  • Ability to multi-task in a busy environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks through effective time management skills.
  • Computer and standard office equipment proficiency.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish appropriate relationships with families, caregivers and other professionals.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain professional disposition.
  • Have the physical and emotional stamina to supervise children in a variety of settings including outdoor public spaces.
