Status: Professional, Permanent, Full Time

Responsible for the strategy, direction, creation, implementation and of quality activities, for all Sollio Agriculture. He/she will be responsible for ensuring compliance standards are met to obtain the necessary certifications to conduct manufacturing activities in Canada. This leader will be responsible for establishing a unified Quality Management System (QMS), procedures and ensuring that policies and processes are followed in accordance with relevant regulations, industry guidelines and applied Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). In collaboration with other vice presidencies and groups, such as HR and Environment, this leader will implement and promote a positive quality culture while complying with applicable legislation. As a strategic leader in the operations function and member of the management committee, this person will play a key role in ensuring quality, productivity, health and safety and environmental compliance in all Sollio Agriculture operations.


Main responsibilities

  • Manage all quality unit activities for all Sollio Agriculture and its partners across Canada, including feed mills, hatcheries, and grain and fertilizer operations;
  • Implement effective processes to manage quality events, non-conformances and deviations, supplier quality, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), audit management, change management, documentation management, training and complaint handling;
  • Manage the customer complaint process and, in collaboration with other functions, decide on the best course of action to deal with the complaint;
  • Participate in various organization, governmental, or any other committees requiring the collaboration of the Quality unit;
  • Monitor quality and compliance rules and regulations in the food industry, ensuring that the highest standards of certification are met;
  • Collaborate with operational leaders, internal and external partners to develop standard operational procedures leading to operational excellence (define standards, tools, templates, etc.);

YOUR STRENGTHS

  • Strong knowledge of quality systems and processes such as ISO, HACCP, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Experience in the food, beverage, or pharmaceutical industry with a thorough understanding of industry-specific quality challenges and regulations.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and effectively communicate quality initiatives and requirements.
  • Leadership and management experience, including the ability to manage and develop a team of quality professionals.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as food science, natural science, health science, engineering or quality management.
  • 15+ years of experience in quality management in a food production, agri-food, or related industry environment.
  • Proven track record of implementing successful quality initiatives and achieving results.
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and other quality tools.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with quality management software, computerized quality management systems (QMS) and data analysis tools.
  • Due to the nature of the position which requires interaction with national clients, bilingualism in French and English is required for this position.
