How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team:
The Program Manager works in collaboration with various TRCA teams, partners and stakeholders to communicate and oversee programs. This role focuses on managing relationships with stakeholders while providing program specific expertise.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Prepares, manages and controls program budgets and financial reporting
  • Leads the development of program materials and resources with input from internal and external stakeholders
  • Prepares, in conjunction with the procurement team, procurement documents, contract agreements; develops Request for Proposals (RFP) with proficiency and evaluates proposals
  • Oversees the coordination and drafting of grant applications and funding proposals for specific projects, including non-traditional funding sources and partnerships to achieve mutual objectives
  • Builds and maintains relationships with various industry partners with a focus on growing programs and/or community engagement opportunities
  • Leads a team of staff and ensures that team members understand expectations; communicates schedule, tasks and discusses priorities of items
  • Communicates with team members regularly to assess workload and status of activities, amends work and reassigns staff as needed to direct workflow and accommodate for any situational circumstances Supports onboarding and provides on the job training and support as needed for individuals; also identifies any gaps in or potential improvement areas for training, development, process, resources, or procedures
  • Ensures staff/volunteers/contractors, as applicable, comply with health & safety policies, and other TRCA policies, as applicable in various work environments, while leading incident investigation and mitigation process
  • Incumbents may also be assigned other duties
What will you need to succeed:
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Environmental Science, Geography, Natural Sciences, Water Resources, or related field.
  • Valid Ontario Class G2 driver's license
  • 4+ years of experience in program management, in relevant field
  • 1+ years of progressive managerial, supervisory or project management experience
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting and/ or writing technical drawings and/or reports
  • Experience managing relationships / working with sponsors, government representatives or in partnerships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate project status for various audiences,
  • prepare reports and proposal writing; and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of procurement practices, program management and risk management concepts
  • Able to self-manage workload and prioritize tasks as an ongoing challenge in a frequently fluctuating workload and multiple deadlines
  • Ability to design and conduct stakeholder engagement and facilitate program discussions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member to coach staff and work with stakeholders (internally and externally); ability to deal tactfully and courteously with stakeholders, public officials
  • Strong budget management and cost control skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite including online software such as MS teams, WebEx, and SharePoint
